I have to confess about slightly obsessing over the genius of Charlotte. Don’t worry about me: yes, I can be a tad OCD, but I’m also very ADD, and as you read this, I just went back to “natural” makeup (but that is another post).

When a girl is on a roll, she’s on a roll! After my first try at the Tilbury Technique, I really got into it. It might be because I totally get every single makeup reference she makes, from old Hollywood movies, to the late seventies Jerry Hall eyes, and maybe the fact that I’m a rock chick, too. My fave photographer, Cesar, was also on a roll and wanted to do a glam “duo shot”. Another shoot, another chance to practice my Tilbury skills.
So we got these two models together, thanks to the lovely bookers at www.montagemodels.com. Jake and Anne-Sophie were gracious enough to play some high-drama for another lovely overload of femme fatale proportions, hashtag siren. And it worked, again! Even if you’re not using her products, if you follow her simple steps you get mesmerizing eyes. The tricky part is figuring out the right colours, and here is where the line does the work for you. However, most makeup brands haven’t caught up to her amazing shades, and finding dupes, won’t always be possible!
There was no script, so the story is up to you, but here is the makeup game plan… On eyes: L’Oréal Paris Infallible shadows in Endless Chocolat, Forever Pink, and Tender Caramel. I used brown and black liner pencils for soft definition around the eyes. Dior Iconic Overcul Mascara. For extra drama M.A.C. Diva lined with Night Moth for an essential lip cheat. On skin: Clé de Peau Silky Cream foundation mixed with Giorgio Armani Maestro Sun and Laura Mercier Contour Palette (skin’s gotta be deluxe and flawless). Jake on the other hand, just got some under eye conceal courtesy or my trusty M.A.C. Concealer and Corrector palettes.
And wearing NARS Audacious Lipstick in Claudia for a softer look.
Will there be anymore installments of Tilbury-esque eyes…. Suspense & Drama? What do you think? Naturally; everyone gets eventually bored with natural…
