Weekender Review

Lise Watier is launching their first collab with Elle. The collection is called “Weekender”. I did a test run with a photoshoot and here are my impressions.

This is a July launch because the colours are so versatile. You can rock a warm-nude look any time, any place with Weekender. The collection offers also repackaged lipstick shades in nude container, and a bronzer/highlight/blush palette of their top selling Havana bronzer, perfect to slip into your travel bag. Overall the collection is well edited, and the quality of everything is top-notch.

After using the collection for a photo shoot that you can see here, I can say that my favourites are the Ombre Velours Suprême. Tan velours works on pale to medium, and Maple Velours looks good on medium to medium deep skintones to contour the eye. I love how well they glide on and blend out. These sort of beige-pink shades can shape the eye without looking makeup-y. I also love the pale blue shade, it makes for a great highlighting on the brow bone, or on the lid to add some light, or as a base ( 26$CND each)

The eyeshadow palette is also a stand-out (48$CND). All the shades are very pigmented. The shading colours are pink/cool taupes. The accents shades are pinker and warmer and have a beautiful shimmer to them to pat onto the center of the lid. The blue shade of the palette is a surprisingly versatile colour. It has some teal in it, so it can work with all kinds of skin tones and eye colours. I patted it over the Ombre Supreme velours in Tan Velours and it applied like a dream, and the camera picked up the shade. You can see the pictures I did here.

The lipstick that is part of this collection is beautiful too, it’s a brown that has a lot of pink in it, so it works on different skin tones, from pale to medium to bring out the lips in a natural way.

The other items are fab, and you should check them out, these are only my own personal favourites, but as I said the whole selection has something for everyone!

The collab was between head-artist at Lise Watier, David Vincent, and Vanessa Craft who was beauty editor at the time (she now is editor-in-chief of Elle Canada). It’s available at all Lise Watier Counters.
